Bird Feeder

Blackbird feeder

Although it is still winter and the birds are not as active as in the spring and summer I decided to make a present for the blackbirds that visit my yard. So I hope to help them get through the winter. So, after researching a bit in Pinrest I decided to one of the thousands of drawings that exist there and that can run with a few pallet woods. Here's how it was after it was done.

Materials:

Pallet wood
Wood glue
Acrylic
Hinge

Cut the pallet slats coarsely to the sides and make 2 rips to then take the acrylics. The sides were cut with angles of 45º for the tops and 10º in the miter saw. I cut the base also with 20cm in length. Then I cut the rips to the acrylic on the table saw and the two acrylic bits that will allow the birds to see the food but not touch it.

As the acrylic bits were touching the bottom and the food did not pass I created 2 cuts on the band saw where the food will gradually come out as it is being consumed in the bottom.

I glued two round sticks where the birds will land and glued to the ends.Cut the remaining bits from the base, glue everything and nail.

Lacking a way to refill food was necessary that the ceiling was somehow mobile and would allow me to refill food. I ended up fixing with glue and nails one side on one side. For this, it is necessary that the two sides are different and had to remove in height the thickness of the wood so that they were equal after being assembled. After this, just add a hinge and ready, we have the roof ready to fix. Although I have done with a long hinge, can simply do with two small, I used this because it was already ruining with rust and I decided to give it use.

As I would stay next to the barbecue and the shed is in dark shades I decided to paint the same color so as not to stand out much. Only after painting did I notice that where the glue sticks were, the coloring was different. If they do the same project they just wait for the glue to dry and sand or fix the sticks with 2 small nails without glue to not have the same problem. And ready, another project done and a good bit spent on a beautiful day. Let's hope the birds also enjoy it.

My Arcade

My arcade

Finally finished my Arcade, it's been a project i've been working a few month now. Unfortunately i dont have pictures of the construction and only started to take pictures in the end. It's all beed done by me , from the scketch , to the 1:1 model on cardboard, cutting all the parts from mdf, paiting and assembly. It's been a really good project to learn some tecniques, specially about painting. It's running on windows with a small pc inside and running Mala with Mame emulator. It has 16 buttons , 2 joysticks and it's quite good for 2 players. The screen it's a lcd of 17 inches. Any questions or comments let me know. I know the pics aren't that good but the day wasn't sunny for a good quality pics.
